Frequently Asked Questions

Will it automatically send the order to my supplier?

By default, it creates a draft for your approval. Once you are comfortable with its accuracy, you can enable auto-sending.

Does it know that my supplier requires minimum order quantities?

Yes, you configure supplier constraints (minimums, case sizes, lead times) in the Vendor Management module, and the agent respects them.

How does it handle seasonal items?

Its forecasting model accounts for historical seasonality, ramping up suggested orders before peak periods and tapering off as the season ends.

Is this AI agent an add-on or included with SalesVu?

It is part of the SalesVu AI Workforce that ships with the platform. Your account team can confirm what is bundled in your specific plan and whether any optional modules apply.

Does it require new hardware?

No. It runs against the data already flowing through your SalesVu account. Same iPads, terminals, kiosks, scanners and printers you already use.

How long does it take to turn on?

Most operators enable agents during their onboarding session. Once your products, orders and locations are in SalesVu, the agents have what they need to start producing drafts and recommendations.

Does it work across multiple locations?

Yes. Agents are configured per-location and roll up to a corporate view, so a multi-site operator sees both the per-store drafts and the consolidated picture.

Where does the agent get its data?

From the SalesVu data layer — POS sales, eCommerce orders, Inventory on-hand, vendor history, CRM and loyalty events — all the operational data the platform is already collecting.

Will the agent ever take an action I have not approved?

By default agents draft and recommend; the human approves. You can later opt to auto-send specific actions once you trust the outputs.

Does this work for restaurants and retail or just one?

Both. SalesVu is one platform across retail, restaurants, salons, studios, venues and grocery, so the same agent works whether the SKU is a t-shirt, an entrée, a service or a class.

What inputs does the Smart PO Automater rely on?

Sales velocity, current on-hand, Threshold Quantity, Max Stock Days, Storage Capacity, vendor Lead Time and the vendor unit of measure (case pack). All of these live in Manage Inventory and the vendor profile.

Does it generate one PO across all my locations?

No. It generates one draft PO per vendor per location that needs replenishment, so each location's receiving team sees only what is coming to them. Multi-storage areas inside a location are also respected.

Can I still receive partial shipments?

Yes. SalesVu purchase orders move from Draft to Open to Closed and support partial receives, with on-hand quantities updated as items arrive.

What happens when a vendor's lead time changes?

The PO Lead Time Analyst tracks the rolling gap between submit and receive per vendor. When it drifts, your reorder timing adjusts so the Smart PO Automater still drafts at the right moment.

What does the Days on Hand Stockout Forecast do?

It tells you exactly how many days of cover you have on every SKU based on real sell-through. The agent uses it; you use it to spot the slow killers and the about-to-stockout heroes before they bite.

What does Inventory Budgets do for the PO agent?

Monthly or quarterly spend caps per category or vendor are respected when drafts are built. The agent never proposes a PO that blows your cash flow plan.

What does Automate Orders and POs During Inventory Transfers do?

When you transfer stock between locations, the system can automatically replenish the sending location. Multi-site operators stop manually chasing what they just sent.

What does Asset Management on POs do?

When the PO contains serialized, individually-tracked items (bikes, instruments), each unit is created in the asset registry on receipt with its serial number. No separate intake process to remember.

What does Vendor Style Number on the PO do?

POs print the vendor's own item codes alongside yours, so the supplier's warehouse pulls the right thing the first time. Receiving errors and short-ships drop.
